Deletewell i have an answer for u.Golf with all of its traditions began as an elitest sport and some of that elitist tradition/attitude still reigns today. Look at the top 100 courses in America and when they were designed. Super private courses on Long Island and New York like National Golf Links of America, Winged Foot, Shinnecock Hills, and Fisher's Island were designed in roaring '20's, Great Gatsby Era that was an era of excess. There are other courses designed in that same era in different parts of the country like Seminole in Palm Beach County(one of the wealthiest counties in the nation), Riviera Country Club in L.A.(where all the old celebrities like Humphrey Bogard and others played), Augusta National(which just hosted the annual Masters Tournament), and Olympic Club in San Francisco. We're talking ultra-private clubs. Clubs like Shadow Creek in Las Vegas and Cypress Point on the Monterey peninsula in California only grant membership to individuals if they extend an invitation. Cypress Point was designed in that Gatsby era as well. Shadow Creek on the other hand was designed in 1987. Just an example of the elitist tradition continuing. How could they make a newer, even higher MOI driver?) It's all simple physics, something R&D groups can't mess with.

The highest paid sport is arguable, but I would have to say Boxing (Without sponsorship otherwise maybe Golf). Football is really popular because all you need is a ball to play, not everyone has access to ski slopes and badminton courts so those sports suffer.

Most attended sports are probably motor sports, (Superbikes MotoGP, NASCAR they get 100'000's per event). ReplyDeletewell there is no doubt that soccer got to be the first place in the list.but am not sure about other sports.cause when i have seen a tennis match,the gallery is full of crowed and also similar sports like cricket,rugby the supporter always there to support their own team.dont know how you made that list but its difficult to say which sports got more popularity.anyway i like to watch all kinda sports listed above.thogh its much informative blog for me and good effort.well done

DeleteI've been to 11 countries. In S. Korea, Taiwan, China, U.S.A., the Philippines...actually, even in Europe you see more people playing basketball on a daily basis then any other sport. Football will probably forever be king, but I would guess that basketball is played unofficially a great deal. Anyone have any other sports they've seen being played? Which countries?

ReplyDeletefirst congratulation for your effort. i think, sports should be a compulsory part of everybody's life. each country has to take the responsibility that each and everybody can get the opportunity to get training of any type of sports. for that the governing system of the country has to start the process from the school level and include it as a compulsory subject. as much as the children will be interested to sports, it will be fruitful for them. again thanks for interesting and informative blog. good job.
